Turn your Phone or iPad into a Webcam

With everyone working from home, staying connected face to face is more important than ever. Unfortunately web cameras are sold out from all major retailers.

So we went on the search for a solution. Here is one option we found.

You can turn your phone or tablet into a webcam and microphone for your computer.

You just need a few things.

  1. WiFi

  2. A Computer

  3. Phone or Tablet.

So if you have the above lets jump in.

This setup guide is for an Apple iPhone the Android setup is almost the same.

On your phone go to the App store and search for

There is also a free version without the mic input feature.

After you download the software to your computer run the installer.

The driver installation wizard only has a few easy steps, which you go through by pressing Next a few times.

The wizard will ask you to install a device driver

from Kinoni. Make sure you approve the driver

installation by pressing Install.

Now you have both the app on your phone/tablet and the program installed on your computer its time for some magic.

PLEASE NOTE: You must have your phone or tablet on your WiFi

  • Open the app on your phone/tablet

  • You may have to press Allow on your tablet/phone,.

  • Your computer should now display a connected message

  • You will know it is working when you see video on your iPhone/table just like if you had the camera app open

  • Now to open your favorite video chat program and select your new camera and microphone.

In Microsoft Teams you can click on your Avatar then go to Settings to configure your new webcam.

Go to Devices

Under Camera you can select your new EpocCam Camera. - Personally I had two options the bottom one worked the top did not.
